Hi everyone! We are so glad to be back in action for the new year that is 2024. 2023 was a fantastic year for us and we are delighted and ecstatic about 2023. We hope 2024 is a year full of hard-work, busy days and more ‘Magic’.
What is in store for 2024 and what should we expect?
We are really excited about 2024. December was a great month for us as we did our annual Christmas Giveaway. We are also learning day by day. Being in this business 16+ years has thought us many things about how wonderful it is to get to be involved in a community. Being apart of something big is what we have always wanted and so for going into 2024 we are planning to do amazing things. This newsletter will inform you of what we are doing and where we are going to stay tuned to it as there may be BIG giveaways in the near future.
We will also be posting our content onto this newsletter and updating our community about what is going on with Mr. Magic and what is new with Mr. Magic.
January so far!
We kicked off the new year by opening on the 7th of January and we were right back into the muck and dirt renovating homes and making them sparkle back to their original. Unfortunately with January there does come a doom and gloom, Jason thought it would be a great idea if we could create a giveaway for Blue Monday which hits really hard during the new year. “Blue Monday is the name given to a day in January said by a UK travel company, Sky Travel, to be the most depressing day of the year. The concept was first published in a 2005 press release from the company, which claimed to have calculated the date using an equation.”
Jason was adamant that we should bring a bit of magic into this Monday so we decided to run a giveaway for 2 of our businesses, Mr. Magic 7 Services Limited and Footprints Bookstore. We didn’t like the fact that this Monday was to gloom over people and make them unhappy. At Mr. Magic we believe in the opposite, to transform homes and to transform lives. This giveaway was to give back to the community that put smiles on our faces when times were low, and to give back to kick out Blue Monday and replace it with ‘Magical Monday’.
Our prize for Footprints was a €50 Footprints Voucher and 1 afternoon tea at the Royal Marine Hotel in Dun Laoghaire! our winner there was Charlotte Godkin. A massive congratulations to Charlotte we hope she enjoys the prize.
For Mr. Magic we gave away 3 prizes over the Magical Monday! Our First prize was a Powerwashing service voucher to the value of €150 and that was won by Louise Rooney.
Our Second prize was a Gutter Fascia and Soffit Voucher to the value of €150 and that was won by Carl Roche
Our Third prize was a €50 euro voucher for a window clean and also a €50 gift voucher for The Perfect Day Cafe in Centra Greendale. That was won by Mark Lynch.

St. Brigid’s Day
Imbolc or Imbolg, also called Saint Brigid’s Day, is a Gaelic traditional festival. It marks the beginning of spring, and for Christians, it is the feast day of Saint Brigid, Ireland’s patroness saint. It is held on 1 February, which is about halfway between the winter solstice and the spring equinox.
February 1st St. Brigid’s Day brings Spring the new season, the fresh start, a new chapter. In parts of Connacht people would carry a large straw belt (a Crios Bríde) through which the inhabitants passed while saying a prayer to St Brigid, in the hope of gaining the saint’s protection from illness during the coming year.
